ISLAMABAD: Students from Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, and Lahore who are enrolled in degree colleges and universities are excitedly awaiting the announcement of the motorcycle program run by the Punjab government.
Until the deadline of May 1, 2024, the government received a total of 72,640 applications, of which 57,370 were for petrol bikes and 15,270 were for electric bikes.
19,000 gas-powered motorbikes and 1,000 electric bikes will be given away under the program to students who will be chosen by poll. There is a specific quota in the program for female students.
Out of 19,000 petrol bikes, 11,676 are for male students and 7,324 are for female students.
Out of 1,000 Electric bikes, 700 have been allocated for male students and 300 for female students.
The financing for electric Bikes under the scheme is limited up to Rs250,000 and that for Petrol Bike is limited up to Rs150,000.
If a student selects a bike that costs more than the amounts shown above, they will be required to pay the extra amount up front to the BOP to be deemed successful. The Punjab government will not pay for any price greater than those listed above. The only possibilities from which the bike may be chosen are those listed on the web platform.
Punjab Bikes Scheme 2024 Balloting Date
The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has made provisions for the electronic conduct of the balloting.
According to reports, the voting is scheduled for tomorrow, May 10, but no formal statement has been made on this.
