Islamabad: Retired Lieutenant General Hamood ul Zaman Khan, Secretary of Defence, has written letters to all three services chiefs. The Defence Secretary has penned letters to the Army Chief, Air Chief, and Naval Chief, shedding light on the roles of officers involved in the 2017 sit-in in accordance with the Supreme Court’s directives.
According to sources, the letters outline the Defence Secretary’s assessment of the roles of officers involved in the 2017 sit-in. The Defence Secretary has submitted his written statement to the commission.

It is noteworthy that in November of the current year, the caretaker government established an inquiry commission to act upon the court’s decision in the Faizabad sit-in case and determine the responsibility of those involved.
Several officials, including former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and former Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Fawad Hasan Fawad, have appeared before the three-member commission.”
