LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz fulfilled another promise, as the e-balloting process to give bikes to students under the CM’s Youth Initiative program was completed at the CM Office on Saturday.
Punjab Minister for Transport Bilal Akbar Khan conducted e-balloting to give bikes under four different categories to give bikes to male and female students under interest-free and soft installments.
Vice-chancellors of various universities, along with male and female students, were also present on the occasion.
Bilal Akbar Khan said all institutions worked with a great amount of devotion and dedication to make the program successful. He highlighted the cultural impact of the program and announced plans to increase the number of e-bikes in the second phase.
“Well done Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif”, the participants said as she is undertaking laudable steps for women empowerment.
Punjab Secretary of Transport Ahmed Javed Qazi provided details, stating that 1,000 electric bikes and 19,000 petrol bikes would be provided to students in several divisions.

On the occasion, the minister said that the Punjab govt is introducing an excellent scheme for working women and differently-abled people. He expressed his gratitude to the vice-chancellors and college principals for extending cooperation in the successful holding of road shows.
The number of e-bikes would be increased in the 2nd phase, added the minister. Electric bikes will be given to the students of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, and Bahawalpur divisions.
Punjab Govt Bike Scheme 2024
It is pertinent to mention that the Punjab government has announced that 19,000 petrol motorbikes and 1,000 electric bikes will be given away under the program to college and university students.
11,676 male students will get bikes, and 7,324 are for female students. Out of 1,000 electric bikes, 700 have been allocated for male students and 300 for female students.
