Karachi’s largest cattle market is gearing up to open its doors on the Northern Bypass, as preparations are being done.
The contracts for different services and facilities have been assigned, guaranteeing a seamless and orderly market for the forthcoming sacrificial season.
Hasan & Brothers, Muzaffar Hasan Khan, has been awarded the contract to establish the cattle market in 2024.
Contracts for branding, parking, energy, water supply, soft drinks, mineral water, fodder, and ice have all been awarded.
The contracts for tent and canopy vendors as well as janitorial service providers have been delivered.
The contractors are working on their jobs and have already started receiving work orders.
According to Khan, work on putting paver blocks to secure the animals inside the market has started.
Using the tractor-trolleys, waste collection trucks, and heavy machinery, sanitation and other arrangements are being carried out.
To provide enough parking and security procedures, huge lights are being installed at various poles.
Additionally, the cattle market has planned for better drainage; sufficient parking will be available for the convenience of customers; and temporary stalls, including a food court, will be set up to meet the need for necessities.
Before being on sale, the animals will go through a rigorous inspection to make sure they are in good health and meet Shariah regulations.
As in past years, ATMs and temporary branches of major banks will also be set up to provide financial services.
Emergency medical aid facilities and ambulances will be easily accessible. Thirty liters of free water will be given to each cow, and an area will be set aside for the building of cattle barns.
CCTV cameras will be installed to monitor the cattle market, and both the police and ranger soldiers will be responsible for maintaining security.
A team of veterinary doctors will be present, equipped with medicines to provide immediate medical care to sacrificial animals.
