DUBAI: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced Blue Residency Visa for foreigners, here on Wednesday.
As per the reports, 9.4 million visa-free 10-year visas for people involved in environmental protection, including efforts to improve air quality and promote green technology.
While now the UAE is welcoming foreigners with a variety of visas, and the Middle Eastern nation has now introduced the Blue Residency Visa for individuals who have contributed to environmental protection.
The new visa program reflects Abu Dhabi’s commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.
10-year UAE visa
The new initiative reflects the UAE’s commitment to environmental protection while diversifying revenue streams. The Blue Residency is part of the UAE’s 2024 sustainability initiatives.
The UAE generally offers two-year resident visas and golden visas, which target investors, entrepreneurs, scientists, students and others seeking long-term residency.
Skilled professionals, freelancers, investors, and entrepreneurs can also apply for the 5-year visa program. ‘UAE Blue Residency’.
The new visa scheme was approved in a federal cabinet meeting chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The cabinet also approved a new ranking system for higher education institutions in the country. The system considers factors such as academic quality, research strength, and graduate employability.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum highlighted that these decisions are in line with the directives of President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to make 2024 the year of sustainability. The Blue Residency Visa will be awarded to individuals who excel in promoting sustainability, innovative technology, circular economy, and related sectors.
