Nawaz Sharif laments past ‘injustices’ at PML-N’s CWC meeting

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif has lamented “injustices” meted out to him during his previous stint in power, saying those who were involved in hatching conspiracies against him are “being exposed.”.

Nawaz Sharif has said that our government was overthrown in 1993.

Addressing the CWC meeting in Lahore, Nawaz said he was very happy to see the PML-N leaders gathered during the event. He said it had been some time since the PML-N collective had last assembled in such numbers.

Nawaz Sharif said that after a long time, we have all gathered in one place, and the party leadership from the whole country is present here.

“I have an audio of a former chief justice wherein he said Nawaz Sharif had to be removed and Imran Khan had to be brought,” he said while addressing the party’s central working committee meeting in Lahore on Saturday.

He said that I want to give you all a loving message from the bottom of my heart; every face here is a pillar of PML-N.

Nawaz Sharif said that serious cases were made against the best League colleagues, PML-N bravely faced the situation in difficult situations, and false cases were started against the leadership of the Muslim League (N).

He said, what was the reason that our government was overthrown in 1993? If our government had continued, our country would have gained a place in the world. Motorways had started to be built during my rule. Everyone knows how important motorways play in the country’s economy.

The former prime minister said that, by the grace of Allah, Pakistan had been made a nuclear power.

The leader of the Muslim League (N) said that the late Kulsoom Nawaz’s struggle was historic; 5 billion dollars were offered for not making an atomic bomb.

While Shehbaz Sharif has said that the party presidency was entrusted to me due to the cruelty of Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader Nawaz Sharif.

Addressing the meeting of the central working committee of the party at the central secretariat of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) in Model Town, he said that I thank Nawaz Sharif and all of you; today is a very worthy day for me.

Shahbaz Sharif said that because of his cruelty to Nawaz Sharif, the party presidency was entrusted to me.

He said that Nawaz Sharif had decided to make Pakistan a nuclear power, and he did it, ended terrorism in the country in collaboration with the forces of Pakistan, and restored peace in Karachi.

Shahbaz Sharif said that as soon as he assumed power in 2013, I brought the nation out of darkness by ending loadshedding.

Earlier, on Monday, PM Shebaz stepped aside from the PML-N presidency, stating that “the time has come” for his brother to retake his “rightful place as the president of the party.”.

Nawaz was removed as the president of the party in 2018 after a Supreme Court (SC) bench headed by then-chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar ruled that an individual disqualified under Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution cannot serve as head of a political party.
