Riyadh: Women rock band performed first public performance in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
As per the details, Nora heard an initial scream as she leaned into the microphone in the Saudi capital. When she and her colleagues performed a recent set, guitars started crying and drums beat.
The performance of Seera, an all-female rock band that combines traditional Arabic melodies with psychedelia, could not have been imagined a few years ago.
However, as Saudi Arabia liberates some aspects of its society, Seera is a sign that women are now finding their voice.
“We didn’t know how people would react,” said Meesh, who, like other members, asked to identify by her stage name. The band’s name means “life” or “biography” in Arabic.

Seera’s music style revolves around the life experiences of a four-member band. They immediately pointed out that they were not the first female band in the kingdom and announced plans to release their debut album later this year. He has also booked his first international concert in Dubai.
