Security forces killed at least 29 terrorists over past month: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Security forces have successfully neutralized 29 terrorists in the past month during several operations along the Pakistan-Afghansiotan border and in theZhob District ofBalochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.
According to the military’s media wing, recently, Pakistan has witnessed a surge in terrorist incidents orchestrated from Afghan soil,wherein, terrorists from Afghanistan attempt to infiltrate through thePakistan-Afghanistan Border and target Security Forces as well asinnocent civilians.
In this context, in addition to other areas along thePakistan-Afghanistan border, Security Forces have been conducting operations in thegeneral area ofSambaza in theZhob District ofBalochistan, since 21 April 2024.
Furthermore, the statement said, In the same series of operations, during anintelligence-based operation on 14 May 2024, Maj Babar Khanalso embracedShahadat, while fighting gallantly.

Pakistan’s Security Forces are determined and remain committed tosecuring the borders andensuring thesafety of its citizens against the scourge of terrorism, it said.
Moreover, military’s media wing said Pakistan has consistently been asking theInterim Afghan Government toensure effective border management on their side of theborder.Interim Afghan Governmentis expected to fulfill its obligations and deny the use of Afghan Soil by terrorists forperpetuating acts of terrorism against Pakistan, the statement concluded.
Earlier in May, Director General ISPR Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that there is “irrefutable evidence” of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) using Afghanistan against the country.
While addressing a press conference, DG ISPR stated that the plot to kill Chinese engineers in KP’s Besham, which occurred in March,was hatched in neighboring Afghanistan.
