MILAN: Officials in Italy have confirmed that tourists will need to bring additional documents to enter the country and see its beauty here on Saturday.
As per the media reports, in this regard, the Foreign Office has warned vacationers to be prepared for four additional checks at the border.
As part of the fresh measures, Italian border control officials may request that tourists provide evidence of their holiday plans to ensure they have no intention of overstaying the visa-free limit.
In addition to a valid passport, those entering the country may be asked to present proof of residency, such as a hotel booking confirmation email, as well as a return or onward ticket.
Tourists may also be required to show proof of travel insurance or to prove that they have sufficient funds for the duration of their stay.
Tourists may be asked to prove the availability of financial resources for their stay, according to Italy’s foreign ministry.
“If foreign nationals cannot prove the availability of necessary resources, they will be subject to an order of rejection by border police authorities,” reads a statement on the website.

The availability of funds may be expressed in the form of cash, bank guarantees, insurance policies, or bills of exchange. The Italian ministry’s website highlights that the daily rate for travelers entering Italy is 36.67 euros.
