ISLAMABAD: Chairman Bahria Town Malik Riaz on Sunday denied siding or being used by any political party against the opponents.
Taking on social media platform X, he wrote, “All my life, Allah has always guided me to stand by my principle of not taking any political sides or being used by one party against the other.”
He said that for over a year now, I’ve been under immense pressure to compromise, but I’ll never allow anyone to use me as a pawn for political motives.”
The statement from the business tycoon came after reports emerged in the media alleging that Malik Riaz had been pressurized to become state approver against Imran Khan in a £190 million case.

While speaking about the alleged pressure, Malik Raiz categorically denied surrendering to any pressure tactics being used against him.
In a statement, he said that this has been a recurring pattern of victimization against him and his business for introducing state-of-the-art projects in Pakistan.

“With the help of Allah Almighty, I have faced such pressures in the past with absolute grit and strength,” he said, adding, “Even today, in a personal capacity, I can say with utmost certainty, ‘over my dead body’.”
Furthermore, he added, “Despite my ailing condition and distress, Alhamdulillah, I’m standing firm in the face of this adversity, bearing financial business loss daily and being pushed to the wall completely, but will not surrender to any pressure tactics.”
Regarding the 190 million pounds Al-Qadir Trust scandal, the NAB had filed a reference in the accountability court against PTI founder Imran Khan, who is currently in jail, and other parties.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) claimed that in exchange for legalizing Rs50 billion that the UK had seized and returned to the cash-strapped nation, the PTI head and his wife received land worth hundreds of acres and billions of rupees from Bahria Town Ltd, a private land development business owned by Malik Riaz.
The Rs35 billion to go to the federal government was remitted from abroad in 2019 after a British court lifted a freezing order against a bank account held by the Malik Riaz family.
