The climate change ministry recently said that about 26 districts in the country were boiling under a severe heatwave, with the current spell of sizzling temperature likely to last until May 30.
From May 23 to 28, the highest temperature may rise above 50 degrees Celsius, according to previous reports from Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz.
The meteorologist stated, “Pre-monsoon rainfall could begin in the first week of June.”
In most of the country, the heatwave with record-breaking temperatures is still going strong.
The Met Office had earlier warned that heatwave conditions were expected to develop across most of the country, notably over Sindh and Punjab, due to the existence of high pressure in the upper atmosphere.
