ISLAMABAD (Shoaib Jatt): Should Usama Mir leave Pakistan? Should he consider wearing the shirt of another country? In Pakistan, leg spinner Usama is not only losing money but also the opportunity to play at an international level.
This situation is reportedly due to the unannounced chief selector of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), and senior manager Pakistan Cricket Team Wahab Riaz, who is allegedly unhappy with Usama for texting the chairman about the perceived injustice he is facing.
The tension between Usama and the PCB escalated when Usama sent a text to Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the PCB, to report the perceived injustice. This action reportedly led to the decline of a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the T20 Blast, a move that was allegedly influenced by Wahab Riaz.
A member of the selection committee revealed on the condition of anonymity that Wahab Riaz had initially agreed to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the T20 Blast during a conference call conversation with Usama Mir.
A member of the selection committee also revealed that when Usama texted the chairman of the PCB, Wahab Riaz expressed anger towards Usama and told the leg spinner, “Your performances against New Zealand were not up to the mark, as you gave away more than 40 runs, which is unacceptable.”

Keep in mind that Shadab Khan is continually failing at the international level and in the last two games against England and Ireland he gave 50 plus runs and remained wicketless.
Usama Mir has been facing significant challenges and perceived injustices from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), specifically from the unannounced chief selector Wahab Riaz. Despite his recent impressive performances, including becoming the best bowler in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 9 with 24 wickets in just 12 matches, Usama has been continually overlooked for selection in the national team.
This situation has not only affected Usama’s professional career but also his financial standing. He has reportedly lost over 50 million Pakistani Rupees in the last 18 months due to missed opportunities, including Big Bash’s 40,000 Australian Dollars, a Global T20 Canada contract worth 45,000 US Dollars, a T10 league contract worth 35,000 US Dollars, and an offer in the UK worth 70,000 British Pounds.
Usama’s wife is British, and he is in the process of obtaining British nationality, which would allow him to play in the UK as a local player, similar to how Pakistan’s all-format assistant coach Azhar Mahmood used to. He also has an offer from a World Cup playing nation to represent them in the future. This situation presents a potential opportunity for Usama to represent another country if he decides to leave Pakistan.
