ISLAMABAD: Today, the Pakistani Election Commission will distribute ballot emblems to candidates running in the upcoming general elections.
The general election polls are scheduled to take place on the eighth of the next month, as per the ECP schedule.

Political parties have, in the meantime, announced the names of their nominees for seats in the National Assembly and provinces. A comprehensive roster of their candidates for the assembly seats has been released by the PML-N, PTI, MQM, PPP, and other political parties.
On Thursday, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) declared the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa candidates for the February 8 National Assembly election. NA-10 Bucker Chairman Gohar Ali Khan will run for office.
Tickets have been assigned to Abdul Latif for NA-1, Dr. Amjad NA-2, Mehboob Shah NA-6, Bashir Khan NA-7, and Guldad Khan NA-8, per a PTI announcement. From NA-9, Nawaz Khan NA-11, Ghulam Saeed NA-12, Prince Nawaz Khan NA-13, Umer Ayub NA-18, and former speaker Asad Qaisar NA-19, Junaid Akbar will run as a candidate for the PTI.

Important figures Ali Muhammad Khan, Shehryar Afridi, Shandana Gulzar, Sher Afzal Marwat, and Ali Ameen Gandapur, who represent NA-23, NA-35, NA-30, NA-41, and NA-44, respectively, will run for office in the meanwhile.
