LAHORE: The Government of Punjab has granted Rs 10 billion for a Chief Minister Punjab laptop scheme for students in the upcoming FY 2024-25 budget.
According to the reports, the government announced a significant amount for the scheme in response to the recommendation put forward under higher education sector reforms, which led the government to revive the laptop scheme for students after a seven-year pause.
The initiative aimed to support talented students by providing them with free laptops for their education needs.
Last month, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz announced the revival of the scheme, focusing on higher education sector reforms.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed officials to bring back the laptop program for students. Consequently, after seven years, students from all of the province’s educational institutions will once again benefit from government-provided computers.
CM Maryam Nawaz was updated on the difficulties facing higher education during the meeting. She gave the order to open new colleges and institutions in the province’s less developed areas.
