ISLAMABAD: The Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmed Al-Malki announced that the Pakistan cricket team would be invited as royal guests for Hajj next year if they win the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 title.
Saudi envoy expressed this during a video message shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) extending best wishes to the Pakistan Cricket Team for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, co-hosted by the United States and West Indies from June 2-29.
Earlier, Pakistan’s squad arrived in Dallas on Saturday night to take part in the marquee event. Greens shirts will open their World Cup campaign on June 6 against the United States. They will then face India on June 9, Canada on June 11, and Ireland on June 16.
In his message, the Saudi Ambassador hoped that the team would win this tournament. “The team’s success would be celebrated by the entire nation,” he added. “I pray for Pakistan and its success and prosperity.”
He further extended his prayers for the prosperity and progress of Pakistan and made a special promise: if the Pakistani team wins the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, they will be honored as royal guests on the Hajj pilgrimage next year.
