ISLAMABAD: The Zil Hajj moon has been sighted in Peshawar, which was confirmed by the Zonal Sighting Hilal Committee of the Crescent Committee in its meeting on Friday.
This sight marks the beginning of the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah, an important period that includes the celebration of Eid ul-Adha.
The zonal committee, which is responsible for monitoring the sighting of the moon in the region, has confirmed the sighting. However, its official announcement will be made by the Central Viewing Hilal Committee, the authorised body for announcements of moon sightings in Pakistan.
“We have received confirmed reports of moon sightings from different areas of Peshawar. It will be officially announced by the central committee soon,” said a representative of the zonal committee.
