KARACHI: The Sindh government is likely to present the province’s annual budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 on June 14 (Friday).
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, who is also holding the portfolio of finance, will present the budget in the Sindh Assembly at 3 pm.
According to a letter issued by the provincial finance department on Tuesday, the Sindh cabinet will meet at the Chief Minister House to approve the FY 2024-25 budget, and then it will land on the assembly floor.
According to the sources, in the upcoming provincial budget, at least a 10% to 15% increase in the salary of Sindh’s government employees will be proposed.
They added that no money will be allocated for new development schemes in Sindh’s budget and that funds for development projects will be released for ongoing projects.
On the other hand, the federal government will present the upcoming budget for Fiscal Year 2024-25 today. Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb will unveil the budget on the National Assembly floor.
