Lahore: The price of chicken in Punjab has dropped significantly in the market after Eid ul Adha by Rs. 25 per kilogram, which will be applicable from June 20, 2024.
Chicken meat is one of the most consumed meats in Pakistan. The demand for poultry remains high throughout the year, as it is widely used in all kinds of dishes.
As per official rates, the price of chicken meat in the local market of Lahore is Rs 350 per kg today.
The price of the live broiler (wholesale) is now fixed at Rs 300 per kg. Similarly, the price of a live broiler (retail) price is Rs 324.
The price of a dozen eggs has been marginally increased to Rs. 247. At the same time, a full crate of 350 eggs is priced at Rs 7290 with a significant decrease.
Lower poultry prices can ease financial pressure on consumers and offer more economical choices. However, doubts remain about whether retailers will go ahead with the new rates.
