QUETTA: As Islamabad gears for Operation Azm-e-Pakistan, the Balochistan government announced the arrest of two high-value terrorists on Wednesday in a successful intelligence-based Operation.
While talking to the presser in Quetta, Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langau said that the security forces have apprehended an important terrorist network. “Terrorists Nasrullah and Idris have been arrested after a difficult operation.”
The arrested high-value militants are commanders of the banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) namely Nasrullah alias ‘Maulvi Mansoor’ and Idris alias ‘Irshad’.
The arrests came a day after the federal cabinet approved Operation Azm-e-Istehkam to reinvigorate and re-energize the ongoing implementation of the counter-terrorism drive under the Revised National Action Plan.
Addressing a press conference, Balochistan Home Minister Langau said in a breakthrough, Pakistani Intelligence Agencies And Law Enforcement Agencies have arrested a key leader of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) after a difficult operation.
Terrorist Nasrullah was the head of the TTP Khurasan’s Defensive Council, Langau said, adding that he was involved in various terrorist activities in the country.
The Minister praised the security agencies for their successful operation, which he described as “very complex and difficult”.
After showing Nasrullah’s video statement, the provincial minister said India is involved in all terrorist activities in Pakistan, conveying to the global community that no doubt should left that there is an international terrorist country, India, behind all this.
“India is behind terrorist attacks in the country [and] provides financial support to the militants,” Langau said.
In a video statement released by the Balochistan govt, TTP Commander Nasarullah made shocking revelations and confessions that he was involved in terrorist activities from the platform of Baitullah Masood before joining TTP.
Nasrullah stated he belonged to South Waziristan’s Sararogha tehsil and fled to Afghanistan’s Paktika province during the Zarb-i-Azb operation and had worked from Baitullah Mehsud’s platform before joining the TTP in 2007.
TTP Commander confessed that he was involved in attacks on Pakistan Army check posts at South Waziristan, North Waziristan, Pak-Afghan Border, and D.I Khan.
The arrested terrorist further said the Indian Spy Agency RAW facilitated the nexus of TTP and BLA Majeed Brigade with the backing of the Afghan Taliban.
Nasrullah further said he has been working as an “emir” in the TTP’s defense commission since 2023, adding that he worked with a BLA member in January.
