ISLAMABAD: Julian Moazzam James, a Christian officer in the Pakistan Army has become the first from his community to be promoted to the Major General rank.
Bishop Azad Marshall congratulated Christian SSG Commando James for his success and expressed pride over him for becoming the first Major General from the Christian community.
Taking on X, Presdient Bishop Church of Pakistan wrote, “It’s a day of immense pride for Christians in Pakistan as we celebrate the promotion of a remarkable individual to the rank of Major General.
“Making history as the “first SSG Christian Commando Officer” Major General Jullion Moazzam James in the 76-year history of the Pakistan Army, this milestone fills us with pride. God’s richest blessings on you and your loved ones. Pakistan Zindabad,” he added.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Sunday congratulated Julian Moazzam on his promotion to the rank of Major General. The prime minister expressed his good wishes to Major General James for his future, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.
Major General James’s professional capabilities and his hard work and passion had been a beacon of guidance for the young generation, PM Shehbaz added.
The prime minister further said that the contributions of the Christian community to the progress, prosperity, and defence of the country were unforgettable.
Last month, Helen Mary Roberts became the first Christian woman to be promoted to the rank of brigadier in the 76-year history of Pakistan. Brig. Roberts belonged to the Army Medical Corps and served as a senior pathologist, the first female Surgeon General of the Pakistani military.
