KARACHI: The German Consulate in Karachi has announced the temporary suspension of its services to non-EU citizens due to security concerns, here on Monday.
As per the details, this important development was announced through an official tweet posted from the consulate’s account.
“Due to imminent security concerns, the consulate of the Federal Republic of Germany will be closed for services to non-EU nationals until further notice,” the consulate statement read.
While the consulate has stopped processing new visa applications for non-EU nationals, it has made arrangements for those with existing visas. The consulate assured that non-EU nationals whose visas have been processed can still collect them.
“Pre-issued visas may be obtained for non-EU nationals,” the statement added.
This sudden move has left many Pakistanis uncertain about their travel plans and visa applications. The consulate has not yet provided a detailed explanation of the specific nature of the security concerns underlying the decision.
