LAHORE: The Punjab government honored the top performers in matriculation results of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore on Tuesday.
The award ceremony was held in Lahore to honor top position holders of the Lahore and Faisalabad boards. Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat distributed medals and laptops among the top students.
For BISE Lahore, Muhammad Ayan Kashif of Daanish High School Mianwali topped the board exam with 1190 marks, while the second position was bagged by two students, Moez Haider and Maheen Sajjad, with 1186 numbers. Abeera Asghar, Ubaidullah Usman, Zainab Asif, and Sehar Shakeel got the third position.
“I got here because of the hard work of my mother and teachers,” said Lahore board topper Muhammad Ayan, expressing gratitude towards his support system.
Moreover, provincial minister Rana Sikandar Hayat congratulated all the top position holders in various education boards of Punjab. “Kudos to the dedicated teachers who have played a vital role in nurturing these young achievers,” he said.

Taking on X, he wrote, “Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, students from government schools have achieved a historic milestone after five long years, securing top positions in six boards.”
He further thanked the Punjab Chief Minister for cracking down on the cheating mafia. “By dismantling the cheating cartels, we have established a fair & equal opportunity for all, empowering talented students from humble backgrounds to excel,” he wrote.
Out of the 250,000 students who appeared in the BISE Lahore matric examinations, 174,000 successfully passed, yielding an overall pass percentage of 69.75%.In the Science Group, 73.91% of students passed with the success rate among female students was notably high. 80% of girls passed the exams, while, male students had a pass rate of 67%.In the Arts Group, the pass rate remained at 55% with females and males securing 63% pass rate and 38%, respectively.
Zunaira Mushtaq of Faisalabad has secured top positions in the matriculation results in the arts group announced by the Faisalabad Boards.
“I am very happy, and the credit for my success goes to my father,” said Zunaira, highlighting her father’s efforts in supporting her education. “My father is providing me with an education by working hard,” she added, underscoring the significant role her father played in her academic journey. Zunaira aspires to study further and bring pride to her country and parents.
Chairperson Board/Commissioner Silwat Saeed presided over the ceremony and gave away medals and certificates to position-holder students. The first position holder was given a special prize of a laptop by the education board. The topper was also given a cash prize of Rs 20,000, a second Rs 15,000, and a third Rs 10,000.
