ISLAMABAD: The price of petrol and high-speed diesel is expected to increase for the second half of July 2024 due to higher global oil prices and new taxes that came into effect after budget approval.
The government will likely increase the petrol prices by Rs7.60 per litre and HSD by Rs3.50 per litre and the new prices will come into effect from July 16.
Earlier, the government increased the petrol and diesel prices from July 1, 2024, by Rs Rs 7.45 and Rs 9.56 per liter, respectively on July 1, 2024.
According to reports, the prices of petrol and HSD had increased in the international market by about $4.4 and $2 per barrel, respectively, in the last fortnight.
Currently, petrol is available at Rs265.61 per litre while diesel costs Rs277.45 per litre.
The federal government is expected to revise the petrol price by Rs7.68 per litre and diesel price by Rs3.72 per litre.
