RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan was arrested in connection with the Jinnah House attack case on Sunday, following the approval of physical remand in a new Toshakhana reference.
The investigation wing of Lahore police formally detained Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, where he will be investigated under sections related to incitement against the state. According to authorities, the PTI founder faces charges in 12 cases, including the May 9 Jinnah House case.
As per the details, the PTI founder will appear via video link before the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court on Monday (today), where a request for his remand will be made.
The former Prime Minster was apprehended following his arrest in a new Toshakhana reference by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Saturday hours after he and his wife Bushra Bibi were acquitted in the Iddat Nikkah case by the additional district and sessions court, Islamabad.
The Accountability Court on Sunday approved the 8-day physical remand of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in a new Toshakhana case. The couple was accused of purchasing a jewelry set, valued at Rs75 million, from the Toshakhana and selling it.
