KARACHI: The weather in Karachi remained very hot throughout the day as the temperature was recorded at 39 degrees Celsius in the afternoon, with the real feel being even higher.
According to the Met Department, the humidity levels in the port city are expected to be between 70 to 80 percent in the morning and 60 to 70 percent in the evening due to the absence of sea breezes.
Earlier, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted hot and humid weather for Sindh’s provincial capital for the next three days.
However, rain poured in various parts of Karachi on Tuesday, bringing much-needed relief to residents. As per details, monsoon clouds unleashed rain in areas including Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Steel Town, and Malir Model Colony, while the heat remained intense in most parts of the city.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has said that a new spell of monsoon will affect Sindh including the metropolis from July 18 or 19.
According to the statement, thunderstorms and rain with occasional heavy falls are expected in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, and Jamshoro districts from today until July 21, with occasional gaps.
