LAHORE: The Meteorological Department has issued a new advisory warning to expect more monsoon rains in different parts of Pakistan from July 22 to 27.
Monsoon winds coming from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal will enter the upper reaches of Pakistan from July 22.
According to the advisory, there is a possibility of rain in Rawalpindi Division, Islamabad, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Murree and Galyat from July 22 to 25. Besides, rain is also predicted in Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Jhang and Mianwali. Is. during this period.
The advisory also indicated that rain may occur in Multan, Muzaffargarh, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan on July 23 and 24.
Monsoon rains in Punjab
A PDMA spokesman says rains with gusty winds are likely in most districts of the province from July 22 to 25, including Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Bhakkar and Mianwali.
From July 23 to 24, there are chances of wind and rain in southern Punjab districts. In view of the instructions of the chief minister, the departments concerned should remain alert. The PDMA DG says rains will reduce the intensity of heat and humidity.
However, the rains may cause floods in the rivers and canals of Punjab.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dir, Chitral, Swat, Malakand, Peshawar, and Kohistan are expected to have rains from July 22 to 24, while Mansehra, Abbottabad, Swabi, and Mardan will likely experience rain during the same dates.
