ISLAMABAD: on light of recent attacks by both nations on each other’s territories, the National Security Council and the caretaker federal cabinet will meet today (Friday) to discuss the current tensed situation between Pakistan and neighboring Iran.
The NSC meeting will be presided over by Anwaarul Haq Kakar, the acting prime minister. The session’s new time is 4:30 pm instead of 2:45 pm, which was the original scheduled time.
The meeting will be attended by the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), the Chief of the Naval Staff, the Chief of the Air Staff, and other senior secret service officials.
The tight relations between Iran and Pakistan would be conveyed to the summit. During the meeting, the NSC will make several significant choices.
Concurrently, today’s meeting of the caretaker federal cabinet is scheduled to address the present state of national security. It is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
The Israel-Hamas conflict has already heightened regional tensions, which have been further exacerbated by the infrequent military operations in the porous border province of Balochistan, which is shared by both countries.
Pakistan struck militant targets inside Iran on Thursday after Iran launched a missile and drone attack on what it described as “terrorist” targets in Pakistan on Tuesday night.
China has volunteered to intervene between the two nations, while the United Nations and the United States have called for moderation.
Following the last provocative Iranian cross-border missile strike, Pakistan attacked the Iranian hideouts of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) early on Thursday morning.
However, during an operation known as “Marg Bar Sarmachar,” the Pakistani forces focused only on terrorist groups that operate in Balochistan while utilizing Iranian territory, ignoring any military installations or civilians.

Sources claim that Pakistan carried out precise strikes on terrorists located about 40 kilometers inside Iran using rockets and missiles. They said that a number of BLA and BLF officials and their family were in the western neighbor.
Later on in the day, the ISPR reported that in order to prevent collateral damage, the military targeted terrorists who were engaged in acts of terrorism in Pakistan using drones, rockets, and other weaponry. Dosta alias Chairman, Bajjar alias Soghat, Sahil alias Shafaq, Asghar alias Basham, Wazir alias Wazi, and other terrorists were among those named as dead, according to the report.
