Telling his Turkish colleague that terrorist camps were the target of Operation Marg Bar Sarmachar, Jalil Abbas Jilani
ISLAMABAD :Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani stated on Friday that Islamabad had no interest in escalation in response to Pakistan’s retaliatory attacks against Iran.
He mentioned this over the phone with Turkiye’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan. The two dignitaries talked about the current events between Pakistan and Iran.
FM Jilani discussed the current events and Pakistan’s viewpoint. He claimed that the target of Pakistan’s Operation Marg Bar Sarmachar was terrorist camps located within Iran.

The phone contact was made one day following the favorable messages that top Iranian and Pakistani officials had exchanged.
Speaking on her X handle, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch posted a tête-à-tête with Iranian counterpart Seyed Rasoul Mousavi and Additional Foreign Secretary Rahim Hayat Qureshi, noting: “Some positive exchanges.”
The event occurred just hours after Pakistan on Thursday carried out retaliatory strikes on terrorists’ hideouts inside Iran. Two days prior, Tehran had breached the nation’s sovereignty by carrying out an attack in Balochistan that resulted in the deaths of two toddlers and the injuries of three girls.
The Pakistan Army claimed in a statement that the “Marg Bar Sarmachar” intelligence-based operation has effectively targeted the terrorist organizations’ hideouts, such as the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF).
The FO additional secretary expressed in an X post today that he shared the feelings of “dear brother Seyed Rasoul Mousavi” in response to his Iranian counterpart’s letter.
He stated that Pakistan and Iran have fraternal relations and should cooperate to find constructive solutions to any problems.

The restoration of trust and confidence, according to him, is crucial because these factors have historically characterized the two nations’ bilateral relations.
“Coordinated action is required to address our shared challenges, including terrorism,” he continued.
Mousavi expressed his belief that the current state of hostility between Iran and the United States stems from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Iran.
“High ranking officials and leaders from both nations are aware that the current tension between their two neighboring countries serves only to the advantage of terrorists and enemies of both nations,” he wrote in Persian on X.
In the meantime, in response to the tension between Iran and Pakistan, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar called separate sessions of the National Security Committee (NSC) and the federal cabinet for this Friday, or today.
The prime minister interrupted his trip to Davos to return home after attending a World Economic Forum meeting.
The scenario will be reviewed by the cabinet against the backdrop of Iran’s airspace violations and strikes.
The group would also receive a briefing on the operational readiness, border conditions, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman’s Thursday media conference.
The cabinet would also talk about issues related to election preparations on February 8.
The current state of affairs on the border between Pakistan and Iran will be discussed at the NSC meeting, which will be attended by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, three service chiefs, and the Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
A number of significant choices pertaining to the nation’s foreign and internal security are anticipated.
