KARACHI: The Sindh Transport Department has launched electric buses on new routes to facilitate citizens of Karachi with convenient commute.
EV-4, the newly established route spans 55 kilometers which will connect Super Highway to Numaish Chowrangi. This new route will travel through key areas such as Dumba Goth, Gulshan-e-Maymar, Sohrab Goth, and Al-Asif Square, thereby providing benefits to the communities of Ayesha Manzil, Lalukhait, and Teen Hatti.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MPA Raja Abdul Razzaq and Sajid Jokhio officiated the inauguration of this route.
Addressing the presser, Minister Sharjeel Memon emphasized that this initiative will play a positive role in boosting local economies, easing traffic congestion, and reducing travel costs.
He restated the government’s commitment to offering affordable and modern transportation solutions, noting that more buses will be introduced and additional routes will be developed in the future.
Earlier in July, the Sindh Transport Department announced three new routes for the Peoples Bus Service in Karachi. The new routes include Hawksbay to Tower, starting on July 22, and an extension of Route 12. From July 23, the Peoples Bus Service will also begin operating from Qaidabad, Korangi, and Memon Goth to Tower, previously served by the route from Khokhrapar.
