Islamabad: Former Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, expressed his willingness to engage in dialogue and negotiations, emphasizing his political nature. Imran Khan highlighted the challenges faced during the 16-month tenure of the previous government, questioning the impact of the rail cuts on the economy. He criticized the economic downturn, noting the departure of 150,000 professionals and the country’s significant external losses.
Discussing foreign relations, Khan underscored the importance of Pakistan’s ties with Afghanistan and lamented the deterioration caused by the policies of the previous government. He expressed concern over Iran’s recent incursion, emphasizing the need to avoid unnecessary conflicts that could harm Pakistan’s economy.
Imran Khan addressed his commitment to political solutions over armed conflict, advocating for fair and transparent elections as the key to resolving issues. He acknowledged the sacrifices made in the fight against terrorism, citing the loss of 80,000 lives. Imran Khan spoke about the significance of the military’s role in supporting PTI, claiming that 90% of the military supports the party. He referred to General Bajwa’s assurance that the entire military stands with PTI, acknowledging the military’s role in the nation’s stability.
