ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jalil Abbas Jilani, engaged in a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Amir Abdollahian, in an effort to address ongoing issues between the two nations.
According media reports, the telephonic discussion focused on the exchange of views regarding the recent conflict between the two countries. The spokesperson for the Foreign Office issued a statement, noting that Jalil Abbas Jilani expressed Pakistan’s readiness to work on all issues based on mutual trust and cooperation with Iran.
Emphasizing the need for close cooperation on security matters between the two neighboring nations, Jilani underscored the significance of strengthening ties for regional stability. This contact comes as a follow-up to recent developments and signals a positive turn in diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Iran.
Responding to the exchange, Iranian Ambassador Syed Rasoul Mousavi expressed on social media that leaders of both nations are aware that recent tensions will only benefit their common enemies and terrorists. Mousavi further highlighted the pressing issue of ending Zionist crimes in Gaza as a crucial matter for the Muslim world.
