As per the details, the meat price moved up amid a rise in demand, in which consumption of other meat increased.
In the data shared by local traders, the price of live chicken meat reaches Rs490 per kg. Broiler chicken meat has become expensive by approximately Rs100 per kg in recent days.
Traders in Peshawar attribute the continuous rise in chicken prices to several factors, including the escalating costs of feed, chicks, and electricity. These increased expenses have significantly impacted the overall cost of raising chickens, which, in turn, is reflected in the market prices.
The traders’ association has expressed its concerns that chicken, like beef and mutton, is becoming unaffordable for the common man. They criticized the budget for unfair taxation and total disregard of his recommendations.
This situation indicates the increasing financial burden on the citizens as the cost of living continues to increase rapidly in the wake of the new budget.
