ISLAMABAD: At that time, Toyota Corolla sold in Pakistan was first introduced in June 2014. Despite a decade, the design of the car has not changed, with just minor cosmetic updates on the way.
At the end of 2017, Toyota introduced a fee lift for Corolla. Then after the 2020 Indus Motor Company (IMC) closed its popular 1300cc GLI and XLI Corolla variants, another walk, known as “Altis X”, just 1600cc and 1800cc engine options were available.
However, in these ten years, the overall shape and model of Pakistani Corolla has not changed.
When will Toyota change Corolla’s shape in Pakistan?
However, despite its popularity, some users are rapidly dissatisfied with the lack of change in design. Many people are desperate to know when Toyota will introduce the 12th Generation’s Corolla, and when a new form will come to Pakistan.
Recent reports suggest that there is no possibility of a change in the design this year. Inners claim that the new model has not yet entered production. Although these rumors may not be fully accurate, it seems impossible that Toyota will introduce the form of a new Corolla within the next three months or by the end of 2024.
Interestingly, the 12th Generation’s Corolla has already been launched in several countries, including the Philippines, but Pakistani buyers are still waiting. The latest reports say that although the new Corolla was expected to arrive early this summer, economic challenges have delayed its release.
If you are waiting for the next generation of Corolla, you may need to revise your plans, as it seems little more likely to launch in 2024.
In addition, in view of the current conditions of the car market in Pakistan, the price of a new generation of Corolla is expected to be up to Rs 90 lakh, or near the Honda Civic price. At present, Toyota Corolla Altis X Grande is priced at Rs 7.5 million.
Proof of the car’s sustainable price, when the base model of Corolla was first introduced in Pakistan, it cost about Rs 1.6 million.
Today, the same model, even after running more than 150,000 km, is selling for more than Rs 3 million in the used cars market, which, despite its decades -old design, clearly of the brand’s reliable and strong resale value.
Why is IMC not changing Toyota Corolla’s shape in Pakistan?
One of the reasons for Toyota’s continuation with the 11th Generation Corolla may be more demanding and stable sales in Pakistan. Changing the entire model is a complex process, which requires several factors to be considered before the company is introduced to the market.
Car companies often import built -up (CBU) units for testing on Pakistani roads, indicating the adjustment necessary to meet local priorities. Pricing is another important idea, as the car maker needs to balance the cost with the features included in the new model.
Toyota Corolla has been a consistently sold seedan in Pakistan, with no precedent from its rivals. The main reason for this success is the confidence of Pakistanis on the Toyota brand, which is known for its reliable and sustainable.
In August 2024, Toyota Corolla’s sales in Pakistan were the highest compared to all seeds, which shows that with the same model, it is being preferred over Korean and Chinese Sidan available in the local market.
