ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Muslim League (N) President Nawaz Sharif are likely to visit Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s residence to seek support for the constitutional amendment.
The numbers game continues to be an interesting battle over constitutional amendment.
The government and its allies are concentrating all their efforts on persuading Maulana Fazlur Rehman. Has he agreed or is the stalemate continuing? No one is willing to say.
So far, the government has not been able to submit the constitutional amendment draft to the federal cabinet or parliament.
As soon as the government delegation left, the PTI delegation arrived at Maulana Fazlur Rehman‘s residence.
Shibli Faraz and Asad Qaisar reached Maulana’s residence. According to reports, the delegation will discuss the proposed package of constitutional amendments with Maulana and try to convince him to maintain the opposition alliance in these amendments.
Meanwhile, according to media reports, Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar will also meet Maulana Fazlur Rehman sometime soon.
