KARACHI: The Karachi Traffic Police has announced a traffic diversion plan for the upcoming Eid Milad-un-Nabi processions on September 17, Tuesday.
Three main processions will be held in Karachi, all of which will take place on MA Jinnah Road, starting at 2:30 pm and 3 pm. The processions are expected to conclude late at night.
The first procession will begin at Kharadar Masjid and end at Gulzar-e-Habib Masjid, while the second will start at Memon Masjid and conclude at Aram Bagh Masjid. The third procession will commence at Memon Masjid in Kharadar and culminate at Nishtar Park.
Additionally, to accommodate the processions, the traffic police have devised a diversion plan:
- Traffic from Empress Market will be diverted to Zaibunnisa Street
- Commuters from M Arkiani Chowk will use Chowrangi Road
- Vehicles from the Aram Bagh light signal will be diverted toward the Shaheen Complex
- Traffic from University Road will use Kashmir Road after accessing it through Jail Flyover
- Commuters from People’s Chowrangi will be diverted towards Saddar via Sharea Quaideen or Corridor-III
- Guru Mandir Road will be dedicated for traffic coming from MA Jinnah Road
The processions will celebrate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) with religious fervor and solemnity, featuring scholars highlighting aspects of the Holy Prophet’s life and emphasizing adherence to his teachings and Sunna.
