SARGODHA: The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) in Sargodha has some exciting news for its registered women beneficiaries. Almost 73,000 women across the district will receive Rs10,500 each as part of the quarterly tranche for September to December 2024.
To collect the funds, beneficiaries need to visit one of the 14 campsites set up in the district, which include five in Sargodha city, two in Sillanwali, two in Sahiwal, two in Kotmomin, and one each in Bhera, Shah Pur, and Bhulwal.
To make the payment process smoother, the BISP has collaborated with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to create a simplified procedure. This new system aims to ensure that beneficiaries receive their payments respectfully and transparently.
Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of BISP, and Governor of the SBP Jameel Ahmed recently met to discuss the initiative and establish a more efficient and transparent system for disbursing stipends.
Unfortunately, not everyone is playing by the rules. Three individuals, including a husband and wife, were arrested for their involvement in fraudulent activities at the BISP center.
In addition, it was discovered that a retailer was distributing funds primarily to women recommended by his wife and an accomplice, overlooking many other deserving women.
Following multiple complaints, Assistant Director Zafar investigated and confirmed the validity of the complaints, leading to the arrest of the suspects.
This initiative is a significant step towards supporting deserving women in the district, and the efforts to prevent fraudulent activities will help ensure that the funds reach those who truly need them.
