KARACHI: As the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) was held across Pakistan, many students and parents faced difficulties including the lack of proper waiting areas for parents in examination centers.
The situation worsened in Karachi’s NED University center, where six students were stopped from entering the examination center, sparking outrage among parents and students.
Netizens also criticized mismanagement at NED University and Dow University Ojha campus during MDCAT. Traffic was blocked for hours outside the exam centers and due to the insufficient waiting area arrangements parents suffered the scorching heat.
One of the candidates, who arrived to take the test despite being injured in a traffic incident was barred from entering. Despite her requests, the administration did not allow her to sit for the exam, leading to an emotional scene at the gates as she broke down in tears.
Another student was also denied entry after NED management closed the gates ahead of schedule, parents said.
Parents and students expressed frustration over the mismanagement, with many questioning the fairness of the process and the early gate closures.
