LAHORE: The weather in the provincial capital Lahore today (Sunday) was hot and dry, the city unfortunately ranks first in the world in terms of pollution levels.
The Meteorological Department has predicted that the temperature in Lahore is likely to range from a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 38 degrees Celsius, with no chance of rain throughout the day.
Humidity levels are reported to be over 74 percent, adding to the discomfort, while the wind speed is relatively low at just 8 kmph. Despite the hot and dry conditions, residents of Lahore are constantly exposed to heavy smog, which has become a constant problem.
The city tops the global pollution index with an average smog level of 190, posing serious health risks to its residents.
A combination of poor air quality and extreme weather conditions has exposed the citizens of Lahore to environmental challenges that are affecting daily life and health.
