LAHORE: Lahore authorities have filed a new case against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, invoking 13 provisions, including the Anti-Terrorism Act.
The charges stem from Gandapur’s alleged involvement in violent incidents near Sialkot Interchange while en route to Lahore for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) September 21 rally.
The PTI event, which ended abruptly after police intervened, saw Gandapur’s convoy, reportedly accompanied by rescue ambulances and heavy machinery, attempting to reach the venue despite missing the 6 pm deadline specified in the no-objection certificate.

Consequently, a first information report (FIR) was registered at Manawa Police Station, charging Gandapur with attempted murder and other offenses.
According to the FIR, Gandapur allegedly led an armed mob, attempting to set vehicles ablaze at Sialkot Interchange. The report also states that two policemen were injured during the altercation.
This development follows Gandapur’s refusal to apologize for his remarks at an Islamabad rally on September 8.
In a video message a day after the Lahore rally, Gandapur said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will not be intimidated or silenced.
“What should I apologize for? I have done nothing that warrants an apology, if you want to file cases, file them,” Ali Amin added.
Moreover, he emphasized that he owed no apology and announced upcoming PTI gatherings in Mianwali and Rawalpindi.
Ali Amin Gandapur slammed ruling parties for unconstitutional actions, affirming the nation’s support for democracy, and the constitution, and Imran Khan, imprisoned for 414 days. He denounced Khan’s unlawful ousting and pledged to pursue justice.
Gandapur announced nationwide protests on Friday, urging peaceful demos in every city and village to demand constitutional safeguards, judicial freedom, and Khan’s release.
Gandapur then announced that his party would hold its next public gathering in Mianwali next Sunday, followed by a power show in Rawalpindi.
