RAWALPINDI: During an informal media talk today at Adiala jail Former Prime Minister and PTI leader Imran Khan informed the journalist that the planned protest in Rawalpindi, initially scheduled for the 28th of September 2024, has been canceled.
PTI’s leadership has withdrawn their application from the Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi bench for the planned power show, citing the previous concerns that permission might not be granted for a rally location outside the city.
Instead, a full-scale protest will now take place in Rawalpindi on Saturday 28 September 2024. This move from PTI’s leadership is seen as a strategic shift to maximize impact and visibility.
Furthermore, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader has reaffirmed the party’s stance on negotiations with the establishment, stating that there’s no point in engaging in any talks.
This clarification comes after Rauf Hasan’s remarks were misinterpreted as suggesting that negotiation with the establishment is party policy.
In addition, Imran Khan remphasized that they will not negotiate with anyone, a stance made clear after a meeting on September 8. They accused the establishment of being duplicitous, “showing the right and hitting the left.”
When asked if Ali Amin Gandapur, a federal minister in Imran Khan’s cabinet, had received similar instructions, the leader confirmed that all party leaders, including Gandapur, had been instructed not to negotiate with the establishment.
This development highlights the ongoing tensions between PTI and the establishment, with the party maintaining its firm stance against negotiations.
Previously, the PTI leadership faced many challenges in staging their rallies with several applications and pleas rejected by the court.
