ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has announced that rain is expected in most cities across the country starting today.
As per the details, a new weather system is expected to enter Pakistan, bringing forecasts of rainfall in many districts of Punjab.
Irfan Kathia, Director General of the PDMA, issued an alert directing all Deputy Commissioners in the province to keep their machinery and personnel on standby.
The alert warned of possible thunderstorms and heavy winds from September 26 to October 1.
According to the announcement, areas including Rawalpindi, Murree, Galyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Hafizabad, Sahiwal, Jhang, Faisalabad, Okara, Pakpattan, Kasur, and Lahore may experience heavy rain accompanied by strong winds.
Islamabad weather forecast
The citizens of the federal capital are enjoying moderate to heavy rainfall today providing some relief from the recent intense heat and humidity.
The maximum temperature recorded today ranges up to 28 degrees Celsius, whereas the minimum temperature expected in the evening will range up to 22 degrees Celsius.
The humidity level in the federal capital ranges between 80 to 82% with light wind blowing in the northwest direction at the speed of 18 km/h. Whereas the chance of precipitation is up to 65% today.
Karachi Weather update
The PMD has predicted hot and dry weather in most districts of the Sindh province during the next 24 hours. However, partly cloudy is predicted for Karachi.
Today, Karachi will experience hot and humid conditions, with temperatures ranging from 30°C to 32°C. However, the city will witness more sunshine, leading to a rise in temperatures. The humidity in the city varies up to 68% and the air is moving in the northwest direction at the speed of 26 km/h.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has announced that there is a possibility of rain in capital city from today.
