ISLAMABAD: As part of Pakistan’s efforts to increase defense cooperation with friendly countries, an agreement for the sale of JF-17 Block-III fighter jets to augment Azerbaijan‘s air power was recently signed.
As per the details, during his recent visit to Pakistan, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was briefed on the combat capabilities and versatile employment options of the JF-17 BLOCK-III fighter jet.
Following President Aliyev’s visit and at the request of the Government of Azerbaijan, Pakistan deployed a PAF contingent to participate in ADEX-2024 in Baku to demonstrate airworthiness and a static display of Pakistan’s proud JF-17 Thunder Block-III. went
During the deployment, the JF-17 performed air-to-air refueling from a PAF Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft to Baku, Azerbaijan in a single hop, demonstrating the long-range capability and reach of the PAF fighter aircraft.
President Ilham Aliyev visited the static display of the JF-17 BLOCK-III and later witnessed a spectacular aerial display by the JF-17 Thunder, which showcased the professionalism of the PAF pilots as well as the agility and maneuverability of the fighter aircraft.
The JF-17 Thunder Block III is a 4.5 generation multi-role fighter aircraft equipped with an AESA radar and long-range BVR capable of performing a wide array of combat missions providing employment options for contemporary air power. Strengthens the national security paradigm.
The President of Azerbaijan said that the support provided by Pakistan will play an important role in strengthening the existing military cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, promoting close defense cooperation and strengthening the warm brotherly relations between the two countries.
