LAHORE: The Punjab Home Department has imposed Section 144 in seven cities across the province, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, and DG Khan, ahead of the Public Service Commission (PSC) exam scheduled for September 28 and 29, 2024.
This restriction will be in effect from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm around the 25 exam centers in these cities, with non-essential individuals barred from entering within a 100-yard radius.
The primary objective of imposing Section 144 is to maintain law and order and prevent any unauthorized gatherings or activities that may disrupt the exam process. This move is aimed at ensuring a secure and fair examination environment.
Similar measures were taken earlier this month when the government of Punjab imposed Section 144 in 12 cities for the MDCAT test on September 22.
The restrictions allowed only candidates and supervisory staff inside the exam centers, while unrelated individuals were restricted from entering within 100 yards. Protests and demonstrations were also banned near exam centers in cities like Lahore, Gujranwala, and Rawalpindi.
