ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif has constituted five working groups to implement the roadmap related to the work streams outlined in the FBR Transformation Plan.
According to the FBR, the Prime Minister has constituted five working groups in consultation with relevant stakeholders to clarify various proposals and implement the FBR’s transformation plan with clear timelines related to the work streams outlined. A road map has been presented.
The first working group will consist of five members including Secretary IT, Tania Aidrus, Chairman FBR, Asif Peer and CEO, PSW on PRAL transformation, value chain digitalization and digitalization of internal systems.
The second working group will consist of six members including Minister Establishment Division, Chairman FBR Ali Sarfraz Hussain, Secretary Establishment Division, Hamid Yaqoob Sheikh and Secretary Finance Division. The Working Group will make recommendations to HR/Capacity Building and Operations/Model Tax Office.
The third working group (Anti-Smuggling, BPR Implementation, RMS/Scanners (Customs), Faceless & Digital Key) will be consist of seven members including Minister EAD, Chairman FBR, Secretary Interior, Dr Saeed Jadoon (ex-member FBR), DGMO, DG (Reforms & Automation) Customs and CEO PSW.
The working group on policy changes will consist of Minister of Law and Justice Dr. Taqir Hussain Shah, Attorney General of Pakistan, Chairman FBR, CEO Pakistan Business Council, President Pakistan Bankers Association, Governor State Bank and Chairman NADRA.
The fifth working group (donor programme) will consist of members including Minister EAD, Chairman FBR, Secretary EAD, Secretary Finance and Member (Reforms) FBR.
To review and finalize specific operational plans for all proposed interventions in the TORs of the Working Groups FBR Transformation Plan, recommending improvements where appropriate, devising specific implementation methods for each intervention and finalizing, recommending sequence of proposed interventions for maximum results and smoothness. Roll out, finalize timelines for each intervention, clearly define required legislative changes/approvals/resources.
The working group will complete the deliberations within three days and forward the final implementation plan for the Prime Minister’s approval.
