WASHINGTON (By Rizwan Abbasi): Syed Qamar Shah, Chairman of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), has unveiled a comprehensive reform agenda to enhance the welfare of overseas Pakistanis, focusing on health, education, and housing sectors.
Speaking at a reception in Virginia, Shah emphasized the urgency of the situation, highlighting daily meetings to fast-track reforms.
The reform agenda includes organizing cultural and educational tours to Pakistan for children of overseas Pakistanis, fostering a deeper connection with their homeland’s rich history and traditions.
An advisory group of 200 distinguished expatriates will collaborate with the government to address key issues faced by the diaspora.
Moreover, a grand overseas convention is scheduled for December, featuring the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif, and the Chief of Army Staff, to address concerns and chart further strategies for overseas Pakistanis’ welfare.
In addition, Shah assured the diaspora that OPF is actively protecting their properties, with tangible progress expected within six months.
The OPF seeks moral support from overseas Pakistanis, rather than financial assistance, to drive these initiatives forward. Shah vowed to prioritize addressing issues faced by overseas Pakistanis, incorporating their feedback to enhance the organization’s performance.
The Overseas Pakistanis Foundation aims to ensure the welfare of overseas Pakistanis and their families, contributing to their systematic rehabilitation upon return.
Under Shah’s leadership, the OPF is taking significant steps to empower overseas Pakistanis, providing long-awaited support and solutions.
