LAHORE: The Punjab government, under the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has launched the “Honhaar Scholarship Program”. This initiative aims to provide scholarships to 30,000 students annually, promoting higher education by removing financial barriers for deserving students.
The program will benefit students from 50 public sector universities, 16 medical colleges, 131 graduate colleges, and top private institutions such as LUMS, FAST, COMSATS, NUST, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute, and seven other leading private universities.
Over the next eight years, the Honhaar scholarship program will disburse Rs. 130 billion, benefiting 120,000 students in the next four years.
- Have domicile from any district of the Punjab
- Not be older than 22 years of age on the closing date
- Family monthly income should be less than Rs 300,000 (Affidavit Required)
- The Applicant must be enrolled in Selected Disciplines in the Selected Universities / Colleges
- Minimum FSc./Intermediate marks:
- Medical Colleges > 80%
- Top 07-Universities > 80%
- Public Sector Universities > 75% for Sciences and > 70% for Arts and Social Sciences
- HED Colleges > 65% for Sciences and > 60% for Arts and Social Sciences
Maryam Nawaz hailed this as a significant milestone in fulfilling promises to Punjab’s youth, empowering the next generation of leaders. The program will help talented students overcome financial hurdles, ensuring access to quality higher education.
