ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has launched an initiative to register IP addresses and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) in Pakistan, aiming to provide uninterrupted internet access to freelancers, businesses, and foreign embassies operating within the country.
This move is designed to ensure smooth internet services and secure connectivity for users. By registering their VPNs, users can maintain stable internet connections and protect themselves from potential cybersecurity threats.
The registration process is free of charge and typically takes two to three days to complete, following verification by the internet service provider. However, users requiring more than five IP addresses will need to pay an IP whitelisting fee.
Moreover, the PTA has introduced an online portal for IP whitelisting and VPN registration, making the process more convenient. By registering VPNs, users can contribute to a secure and regulated online environment in Pakistan.
