MULTAN: England cricket team captain Ben Stokes‘ participation in the first Test match against Pakistan is yet to be decided.
According to the media reports, Stokes’ participation in the Test match against Pakistan starting from October 7 in Multan is uncertain.
Media reports suggested that England will have to wait longer for Stokes’ availability for the first Test and that Ole Pope will lead the team in his absence.
Traditionally, England announce their playing XI two days before a Test match and the XI against Pakistan is expected to be announced on Saturday.
Earlier, former England captain Nasir Hussain said that it would be foolish to think that England can beat Pakistan easily.
It is noteworthy that Ben Stokes suffered a hamstring injury during the Hundred League due to which he could not play in the Test series against Sri Lanka.
England batsman Zac Crowley said he was still unsure about Stokes’ participation. He appears to be fine and recovering from the injury, but Crowley believes there are still more tests to be done.
It should be noted that the England cricket team has reached Pakistan for the three-match Test series.
