ISLAMABAD: Residents in Pakistan’s federal capital are describing the present weather as the “worst fog seen in years,” along with a discernible dip in temperature.
Starting at 9 p.m. on Monday, the fog continued to linger over the city until 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
In Islamabad, the temperature significantly dropped to 2 degrees today, January 23, 2024, according to AccuWeather, at approximately 6:05 am. But at 6:22 a.m., the temperature rose back to 5 degrees in a matter of minutes.
The weather forecasting website keeps emphasizing Islamabad’s Air Quality Index (AQI), which is classified as “Dangerous.”
According to AccuWeather’s most recent forecasts, rain is predicted for Islamabad on Thursday night, January 25.
The inclement weather has made things difficult for the people of Islamabad, especially when it comes to traveling at night.

Motorcycle riders face difficulties due to the lower temperatures, while drivers of four-wheeled vehicles also face issues due to poor visibility. It was still very foggy in Islamabad at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
Although dense fog is widespread in places like Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, and Kasur, it is interesting to note that Rawalpindi and Islamabad are not frequently affected by this kind of fog.

A long-time resident of the federal capital, having arrived to Islamabad more than ten years ago, expressed shock, saying he had never seen this much fog here before.
Given the hazardous weather and fog, citizens are urged to drive carefully. They should also keep up with the most recent weather forecasts and police and highway authority advice.
