LAHORE: In a worrisome turn of events, twelve more youngsters in Punjab have died of pneumonia in the last twenty-four hours.
The children who passed away, according to the Punjab Health Department, varied in age from two months to twelve years.

An infection that causes inflammation in the lungs’ air sacs is called pneumonia, and it has become a major health concern. There could be serious implications if symptoms include fever, chills, cough with pus or phlegm, and breathing difficulty.
Two pneumonia-related deaths in Lahore were recorded by the Health Department, and over the same 24-hour period, 230 more youngsters in the city were diagnosed with the illness. During this period, 491 instances of pneumonia were reported in Punjab.
Disturbing figures show that 194 children have died in Punjab this year from pneumonia, with 45 of those deaths occurring in Lahore alone. The shocking total of 10,061 cases that have been registered in Pakistan’s largest province highlights the growing epidemic.

There are severe shortages of necessary pharmaceuticals in Lahore as a result of the increase in pneumonia cases.
